Completed in 2005, Lakeshore Terrace was a step up from the
typical condominium building being constructed at the time. It offered granite
countertops, hardwood flooring and stainless steel appliances, not as upgrades,
but as the standard.
Site preparation included soils remediation to eliminate old peat deposits and
other issues commonly associated with sites with high water tables which are in
close proximity to Lake Okanagan. Foundation construction required minor
dewatering as some footings and the elevator pit were below water.
The building is comprised of a ±10,000 square foot parkade complete with
suspended slab and 26 suites over a crawlspace. Exterior finishes include a mix
of cultured stone, cementitious plank siding, concrete and stucco. Four of the
suites have lofts which were incorporated into the roof trusses.
